My Destiny

We have finally made it to the ultimate question of life this week. What is the meaning of life? Or better and more personally, what is the meaning of my life? Mancini writes, “The holy grail of the quest to know your Life Younique is to grasp and deliver your ultimate contribution. . . . the cumulative output of your entire life, climaxing in your last and greatest achievement, expressed in a single idea. It is the ultimate reason you were put on earth. If your LifeCall is the trajectory of the arrow of your life soaring through the air, your ultimate contribution is dead-center of the target” (Younique, 246-7).

We are all at different stages in life. Some of you are at the beginning of your ministry lives, some at mid-career, and others, like me, are closing in on the finish line. Wherever you are in life right now, as you muse over the Ultimate Contribution Types in Younique on pp 252-3, which category and type from the Ultimate Contribution Types best resonates with your soul right now as to what your ultimate contribution might be? Please share your best understanding of what may be your life’s ultimate contribution expressed in one single idea.

Mancini makes a serious and sobering call for reflection on death in the last chapter of Younique. His reflections on walking in a graveyard as a young man led him to the insight that “I knew that I would return to dust, and I didn’t want the fruit of my life to endure the same fate” (Younique, 259). He calls you to write your “Tombstone Tweet” and to “. . . imagine the end of your life, your obituary, your funeral (in cinematic detail—for example, who is attending?) and the epitaph engraved on your tombstone. Jot down notes. Then sum up your life in 280 characters or less” (Younique, 259). Please share your Tombstone Tweet, the sum of your life in 280 characters or less.
